Saturday Oct 18 Larsen Art Auction will offer and likely sell all 434 lots consisting of:
Paintings (103), Prints (87), Sculpture (67), Mixed Media (35), Drawings (22), Photographs (13) as well as Decorative Art, Furniture and Collectibles. Artists/ Makers are regionally recognized, as well as nationally and internationally significant. Thirty (30) artworks by Fritz Scholder, six (6) by Ed Mell and six (6) by Larry Rivers. Larsen Art Auction is open online for bidding about a week ahead of the live auction date. Initial bids are below each lot’s low estimate. October 12th six days ahead of their live auction, 174 lots have one or more bids when viewed on Larsen’s website. Ed Mell’s Jack Knife bronze wears a bid of $18,000 as of Sunday October 12 at 6 pm. Buyer’s premium is 20%.

Bradford’s Wild West art auction becomes live on November 9 with online bidding 30 days ahead of November 9 contains 579 lots of art as well as American Indian jewelry, pottery and rugs. Bids open at $5. As of 5 pm October 13, 546 lots had bids. The highest of these was a painting by Ed Mell Canyon Nocturne with 18 bids totaling $25,800 a full 26 days ahead of the live auction’s commencement. Buyer’s premium is 25%.

Shopping online auctions can be advantageous. Be sure to examine all photographs provided to identify any and all condition issues. Better yet, contact auction personnel for condition confirmation. One important note: Is the frame on Ed Mell’s painting signed? This reality has a value consequence, as Michael Collier frames on Ed’s work are beautifully executed “from scratch”.
